Could you get in trouble for texting someone about sex then having a teacher at school see it?

Say you texted a friend, having a conversation about sex during school. A teacher took their phone, read the texts, laughed then sent it to the principal. The principal let it go and didn't read them. Your friend told their mother about the whole thing and the mother is going to the school to talk to the principal. Not because they were talking about sex but because the teacher read the texts and laughed at the kid. Could you get in trouble for sending texts dealing with sex? If it matters, both texters go to different schools in different states.

Yes, you can get in trouble for talking about sex in school. Most school's policy state that you can't have a phone during school hours.When the principle received the text and had a good laugh with the teacher about it was in very bad taste and extremely immature for an authority figure in a school setting.

For the most part sending a text about sex in not against the law unless it is harassing.
