Should sex play a huge role in a relationship?

Should sex play a huge role in a relationship?

I was in a relationship for 5 years, and the sex was not good.

Been single for 3 years, and I have noticed that it's hard to find someone who you can enjoy having sex. When I do find someone.. it usually doesn't work out. Just not getting it.
